The Senior Telematics Component Engineering Specialist will design, develop, and test electrical and electronic components for machines and engine systems, with a focus on wireless communications technologies. The position offers domestic relocation assistance, up to 10% travel, and requires onsite work five days a week.
- Lead design and development of wireless communication components, including radio wave propagation analysis and signal collection strategies.
- Oversee compliance with development processes and regulations for electrical, electronic, and wireless systems.
- Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues related to communications systems, circuits, devices, and microcontroller platforms.
- Manage and negotiate with vendors for wireless and electronic system development.
- Mentor technicians and engineers in wireless communication systems and electronic components.
- Utilize advanced simulation and design tools such as MATLAB RF/Comms Toolbox, ANSYS HFSS, and CAD for product design and analysis.
- Develop and test analog and digital electronic circuits with focus on wireless signal integrity and reliability.
- Apply Python and C++ programming for embedded systems, signal processing, and automation tasks.
- Guide reliability management efforts using statistical measures to ensure hardware performance in wireless environments.
- Direct troubleshooting for complex communications and integration problems in multi‑vendor, multi‑technology environments.

- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or equivalent experience.
- Project management experience.
- Hands‑on proficiency with MATLAB RF/Comms Toolbox, ANSYS HFSS, Linux OS, and scripting in Python or C++ for hardware characterization and system troubleshooting.
- Strong background with microcontrollers, embedded platforms, board‑level bring‑up, and interface debugging.
- Experience evaluating and troubleshooting wireless technologies (Bluetooth, satellite, GNSS, cellular) using measurement, protocol analysis, and RF test equipment.
- Effective communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
- Relationship management ability to maintain healthy client, vendor, and peer relationships and mentor others.
- 6+ years troubleshooting technical problems in manufacturing and product development.
- Ability to develop organizational policies and best practices for technical excellence.
- Familiarity with reliability management tools and methodologies for hardware products.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering processes related to electronic and communications system integration.
- Extensive experience in electronics engineering design, testing, and manufacturing of circuits and components.
- Expertise in wireless communications, RF engineering, and signal processing.
- Strong understanding of radio wave propagation, bandwidth constraints, and signal collection methods.
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $126,000 – $189,000, plus an incentive bonus and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), HSA, flexible spending accounts, health programs, and tuition reimbursement. Benefits apply to both full‑time and part‑time employees. Visa sponsorship is not available.
