Description

What You’ll Do Day‑To‑Day: You will plan, schedule, and conduct independent assessments of materials and products, review documentation, prepare checklists, interview assessors, and generate assessment reports. You will ensure corrective actions are documented and implemented, review QA procedures for compliance with ASME, ANSI, and NRC regulations, and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant codes and standards. Additionally, you will develop and apply nuclear and non‑nuclear QA procedures across design, procurement, construction, and operation, review specifications and test reports, and inspect contractor and vendor work for QA compliance.

• Conduct independent assessments and surveillance of materials and products.
• Review documents, prepare checklists, conduct assessment interviews, and prepare reports.
• Ensure corrective actions are documented and implemented based on findings.
• Review QA procedures to verify compliance with ASME, ANSI, and NRC regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of NRC and other pertinent regulations and industry codes.
• Develop and implement QA procedures for design, procurement, construction, or operation.
• Review QA specifications, test reports, and documentation to meet safety and quality requirements.
• Inspect and review contractor and vendor work for QA compliance.
• Quantify measurement uncertainty using statistical methods per the Guide to Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement.
• Interpret uncertainty results for decision‑making, risk assessment, and tolerance compliance.
• Validate calibration methods through repeatability studies and method comparisons.
• Optimize calibration intervals using historical data, drift analysis, and risk‑based approaches.
• Establish traceability chains to NIST.
• Perform out‑of‑tolerance investigations to assess impact of drifting equipment on measurements.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions based on out‑of‑tolerance findings.
• Develop and review Zeiss Calypso measurement plans.
• Maintain the GAGEtrak calibration database.
• Create functional gaging CREO models and drawings.
• Interpret engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5 and ISO 1101).

Requirements

What You’ll Bring: A bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related fields such as physics, engineering technology, or engineering science) and at least three years of relevant experience, with nuclear quality assurance experience strongly preferred. Candidates should possess knowledge of engineering and QA standards, strong communication skills, the ability to build collaborative relationships, effective problem‑identification and resolution abilities, and a questioning, self‑checking attitude.
