Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Mechanical
T5 Data Centers
T5 Data Centers provides data center solutions, focusing on high-performance infrastructure and services.
Lead mechanical operations for data center, overseeing maintenance, repairs, and training.
Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment; to include the appropriate PPE as required
Working with the T5 on-site technicians, mechanical contractors, design & engineering teams, construction personnel, and customer chief engineers to ensure the ongoing operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical systems, the installation of updates, and the functionality of all mechanical alarms and notification
Generation of technical reports detailing the activities and issues relevant to the Data Center domain
Develop a good working relationship with all members the client staff and representatives
Supervision of Mechanical drill and scenario training aids
Maintain all Mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation and availability
Develop and keep up to date all site Mechanical related procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs and Training Drills. All documentation should be consistent with current T5 and client standards
Development of detailed emergency, maintenance, and drill procedures (in conjunction with the Engineering team)
Ensure the professional image of the client and T5 is always presented to staff and visitors.
Report health and safety breaches through the site process
Assist in the development and training of technicians on Mechanical related issues
Adhere to all relevant US safety laws and T5 and client safety policies and protocol
Communicate any lessons learned from project implementations and highlight them to the site team to ensure measures are put in place to avoid these for future deployments
Follow up and close out of all Mechanical issues raised by the Engineering Team through daily shift reports and CMMS open WO’s
Provide site specific Mechanical training to the Engineering Team
Liaise closely with the client engineers regarding day-to-day issues & improvements/solutions to the operation of the Mechanical plants

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience, required
Battle-Tested Leadership Experience
Able to handle changing needs and priorities accurately and professionally
Strong verbal and written communication skills required for working effectively with Facility Ops Manager (FOM), team members, vendors, and customers on a daily basis
Able to function effectively and maintain focus in high-pressure situations
Able to work proficiently and safely with hand tools and power tools
Exceptional follow-up and time-management skills
Ability to work inside and outside
Above average problem-solving and analysis skills for evaluating a situation, identifying solutions, and working with leadership and teammates to resolve
Owner-Operator Mindset
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl using both arms and legs
Ability to smell, talk and hear
5-7+ years’ experience in mission critical environments (data center, healthcare, high-performance manufacturing, oil/gas production, etc.), with a heavy emphasis on mechanical systems and operations
Has high degree of attention to detail and completes tasks on time
Ability to use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel, and type
Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects
Adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the Data Center domain
Exceptional written technical proficiency to support the creation and revision of process documentation (MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs)
Able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and volunteer readily when asked
Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical manuals, drawings, and sketches
Ability to reach with both hands and arms
Ability to pick-up minimum 60 lbs.
Ability to see at close and distance ranges and the ability to see and correctly distinguish color
