The apprentice will assist with installing a variety of HVAC materials, including round pipe, spiral duct, flex duct, motorized and fire dampers, splitters, air devices, louvers, and air‑moving equipment. You will fabricate or alter materials using shears, hammers, punches, snips, drills, brakes, bending rollers, and other hand or power tools. Additional duties include installing support hangers, making duct connections, drilling and punching holes for fasteners, and performing special projects as assigned.
DynaTen is seeking a Sheet Metal Apprentice to join our Mechanical team. This key position offers opportunities for growth and advancement. As an apprentice you will work with the mechanical team to fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical systems on various commercial construction sites.
Candidates must prioritize safety and model best practices for the team, work closely with DynaTen Mechanical members, and positively represent the DynaTen brand. At least three years of experience installing HVAC or mechanical systems on commercial or industrial sites is required, along with proficiency with hand and power tools. Experience leading or coaching an apprentice, an OSHA 10‑hour certification (preferred), and the ability to work from ladders and man‑lifts are also needed.
The role frequently involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 75 lb. Employees must work from ladders or man‑lifts at various heights and use hand vision skills such as close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Noise levels range from moderate to loud.
