Mechanical Design Engineer Manager

Description

• Manage the Mechanical Design Engineers workload and project schedules.
• Participate in project work, creating 2D and 3D mechanical design plans for prefabricated enclosures. Details of the prefabricated enclosures encompass structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and communication systems including, duct systems, piping systems, mechanical equipment and electrical equipment using AutoCAD and Solid Works computer software
• Participate in company leadership meetings as needed to provide updates and insight on the Mechanical Design team.
• Directly oversee the Mechanical Design Engineers.
• Provide managerial insight to the Mechanical Design team, serving as the subject matter expert on the field and company projects.

Requirements

• Familiar with sheet metal, metal framing and weldments.
• Familiar with prefabricated and modular construction methods.
• The successful candidate should be self-sufficient, have strong computer skills, and be very detail oriented.
• Must be proficient in MS Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Associates degree or equivalent from a vocational training program or technical school
• At least 6 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer with specialty in structural steel applications, 3 of which are in a managerial capacity.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and BIM/Solid Works is required.
• Must have a customer service perspective with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
• Familiar with ISO shipping container construction methods.
• Experience with FEA analysis, weldment design and structural analysis
• Candidate should have good oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
