The designer leads small teams to create 3D models, detailed drawings, and complete fabrication packages for custom equipment, including containment systems, material handling gear, process piping, furnace and metal‑working systems, and pressure vessels. Responsibilities include building Creo (Pro/E) component and assembly models, generating Bills of Materials, preparing equipment datasheets, and managing file naming conventions and Windchill folders. The role also involves directing less‑experienced members, providing checking support, and adhering to strict quality assurance and control procedures.
Candidates must have 0‑4 years of relevant experience and demonstrate expert proficiency with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill, along with familiarity with other 3D CAD systems such as CATIA or SolidWorks. A proven ability to design custom equipment or containment systems and produce comprehensive design documentation is required. Applicants must be able to obtain a security clearance and must be U.S. citizens.
Desired qualifications include an Associate’s degree, proficiency in 2D software like AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit, and solid skills with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in DOE and DOD market segments and hands‑on work with typical equipment are advantageous. Local candidates are preferred.
