Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises Area Superintendents and indirectly supervises Builders, Builder Trainees, Punch Technicians, and Warranty personnel in assigned territory. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
This position is responsible for monitoring quality for designated area. Responsibilities include identifying quality issues, making them visible for resolution, and insuring accuracy, consistency, among communities, project managers, and subcontractors by conduction and tracking quality inspections.
- Perform quality walk-throughs at various phases of construction to review quality in all phases of work.
- Document inspection activities as well as direction provided to other production employees and subcontractors.
- Assist with subcontractor review, job cost review and investigation of discrepancies.
- Participate in review of completed plans coming out of development/design to ensure buildability and identify potential quality issues.
- Investigate quality issues submitted on Problem Reports and respond.
- Meet or exceed previous performance levels in the areas defined by the key indicators and specific goals for the position and the Division.
- Verify completion of quality inspection items, either through onsite checks or following up with Area Superintendent.
- Participate in the building of prototypes working with Estimators and Purchasing on estimates and purchase orders. Identify and document structural issues, problem spots and material use.
- Provide field verification of construction details on plans and recommend/submit clarifications/changes.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and / or ten or more years residential construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to learn KOVA software
- Valid state drivers license in good standing.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Apple iPad
- North Carolina Residential Builder’s License.
