- Conduct risk assessments and implement controls for zero‑harm preventative maintenance.
- Perform maintenance tasks per the Defence Service Definition Table, including inspections, testing, adjustments, cleaning and minor replacements.
- Execute scheduled tasks on weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual cycles based on asset class and risk.
- Carry out repeatable, standardized tasks using qualified and licensed tradespeople.
- Identify wear, deterioration or potential failure points during preventative maintenance inspections.
- Utilise the Employee Assistance Program for personal and family support.

Apprentices can work at HMAS Albatross (Nowra Hill) or Holsworthy Barracks as Electrician or Plumber, or at Randwick Barracks as a Refrigeration/HVAC Technician, and candidates from any background with defence, industry or transferable experience are welcome.
