The Specialty Leasing Manager will oversee temporary in‑line leasing, kiosks, pop‑up retail, activations, MRU program, centre‑focused partnerships and other innovative revenue‑generating uses. The role includes attending industry and internal conferences, prospecting and building relationships with entrepreneurs, brokers and potential tenants, and maintaining a database of contacts to generate business opportunities. The manager also represents the property within the community to support local and centre retailers.
Candidates must have a post‑secondary education and 5‑7 years of leasing, retail or shopping‑centre experience, with strong analytical skills for demographic research. The ideal applicant is self‑directed, achievement‑oriented, and has a proven track record in sales, leasing, and closing creative deals that generate revenue. Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and negotiation abilities are essential.
Required skills include high creativity, prior leasing or sales experience, ability to work independently and in teams, and proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, Simply Accounting, Adobe Illustrator and the internet. Basic accounting, deal‑making, event planning, and strong interpersonal skills are also needed. A clear police record, an Ontario Real Estate Licence (or Specialty Leasing designation), a valid driver’s licence and personal transportation are necessary for local travel.
Compensation ranges from $63,750 to $75,000 and will be determined based on collective agreements, location, market rates and the candidate’s experience, with a guarantee of at least minimum wage.
