As a Master Electrician at Dumas, you will oversee and execute electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting for both surface and underground mining infrastructure. You will ensure that power distribution, motor control centers, switchgear, hoisting systems, communications, and processing plant equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and site‑specific requirements. This senior position also provides technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for all electrical work on site.
The role requires installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across mine sites, as well as diagnosing complex failures and implementing corrective actions. You will work safely with high‑voltage and low‑voltage equipment, interpret and update schematics and technical documentation, and enforce grounding, bonding, and energy‑isolation procedures. Collaboration with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams is essential to support production goals and project planning.
Candidates must hold a valid Master Electrician certification in Ontario (or equivalent) and possess the Basic Underground Common Core credential. A minimum of five to seven years of industrial or mining electrical experience, strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and mining regulations, and proficiency with diagnostics, control systems, and motor‑control technology are required. Leadership, mentoring ability, and an excellent safety record are also essential.
To apply, submit your resume through the Dumas website and include your transcripts via the “Add Portfolio” button. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have written authorization to work in Canada and be residing in Canada at the time of application.
