Project management experience with civil and drainage projects including management of proposals, budgets, schedules, staff allocation, subconsultant management, and design deliverables.
Project experience in the Austin area and with the City of Austin Watershed Department.
Professional Engineering License (PE) in Texas.
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification
Working knowledge of 2D Hydraulic Analysis, specifically HEC-RAS 2D, and its application to floodplain risk mapping.
Experience with client development and management with the ability to create new project and client opportunities.
Proficient knowledge of relevant construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and interpret code requirements. Experience obtaining site development permits, CLOMR/LOMR approvals, and other design permits necessary for the construction of a project.
Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subconsultants and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Minimum 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in civil and drainage engineering analysis and design, with at least 10 years of related experience in Texas.
Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC. Demonstrates strong competence in critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Ability to assertively direct others in the field such as subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Project experience in the Houston area and with the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD)
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. Demonstrated leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Well-defined knowledge with Stormwater Management, Drainage, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, Floodplain Delineation, etc. Proficient understanding of and well-defined experience with surface water analysis, hydrologic methodologies/models, hydraulic models, and with software tools for project delivery including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, Bluebeam, and ArcGIS.
Proficient knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, and the application to site civil and water resource projects through analysis, design, permitting, and construction.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
