  • Spot check HSE work plans to ensure compliance and the contents are still applicable to the scope of work for the contract firm.
  • Administration of OCIP claims management and assistance for non-OCIP contractors for all contractor-related incidents that occur in the areas.
  • Prepare and provide reports of findings with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
  • Translate field observation findings, including trend analysis, along with recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide and/or present instructor-led training for all personnel involved in the contracting process.
  • Develop and maintain leading and trailing safety metrics.
  • Meet with the team to review projects and/or concerns.
  • Provide and has a record of documentation for all event investigation reports that occur within the business area.
  • Assist in and review specifications to be included in contract documents.
  • Attend Monthly HSE meetings.
  • Attend annual contract meetings and assist with agenda items related to safety, as needed.
  • Monitor the safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations.
  • Attend and provide leadership, insight, and recommendations for improvement from a safety perspective.
  • Performance of event investigation and meeting reviews
  • Complete routine process verifications and make recommendations for program improvements.
  • Ensure accurate event information is entered into the tracking database.
  • Provide technical interpretation of OSHA, and IOSHA, for both construction and general industry.
  • Completion of documented field observations.
  • Keeps customers properly informed of safety-related activities or concerns.
  • Provide updates on HSE initiatives.
  • Assist employees during the qualification process.

  • Wearing personal protective gear correctly
  • Must have experience and a general understanding of industrial hygiene applications and process safety management requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Moving about long distances
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working in extreme weather
  • Ascending/descending stairs and ladders
  • Have thorough knowledge of lead/asbestos regulations and hazardous waste handling.
  • Prior experience/knowledge with risk management, statistical methods, and behavior-based safety concepts.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Degree in HSE or HSE-related field, preferred.
  • Prior experience in program development and technical writing.
  • Experience with Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP).
  • Ability to interpret and apply DOT requirements as they apply to shipping and handling of mail, packages, and hazardous waste.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to interpret and apply in practice, construction and environmental information from all codes, standards, regulations, Federal and State laws, and all other applicable regulatory documents.
  • Capable of providing safety support to a variety of different trades/services, including (but not limited to) facility maintenance, laboratories, housekeeping, and project construction.
