The Field Mechanic role with MYR Group involves traveling to project sites across Texas to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and minor equipment repairs in support of field teams. The position requires significant travel, including overnight stays, and may involve emergency response and overtime work on weekends and holidays. To facilitate travel, the company provides a vehicle, fuel card, and lodging.
The role demands strict adherence to safety regulations and may involve providing guidance to less‑experienced mechanics, with work performed at field sites or the company’s designated office.
Candidates should have three to five years of experience in heavy‑truck, automotive, or equipment repair, or equivalent vocational training combined with four years of work, and must possess a valid driver’s license. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and applicants must be at least 18 years old. The ideal candidate demonstrates reliability, a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, effective communication, basic computer skills, and a solid understanding of mechanical tools, equipment operation, and safety regulations.
