35 kV
Voltage Capability
The company provides robust power distribution systems, including 35 kV solutions for military bases.
Founded in 1977 as Simmons Electrical Corporation before rebranding, the company evolved from regional electrical contractor into a full-service private utility developer.
It designs, engineers, constructs, finances, owns, operates and maintains power distribution infrastructure — delivering turnkey solutions, including microgrids and renewable integration.
Notable contracts include utility-privatization partnerships with U.S. Army and Air Force installations and the nation’s first municipal street-lighting PPP.
Finances projects end-to-end, allowing customers to fund large infrastructure upgrades through utility-style models rather than capital outlay.
Typical projects involve underground and overhead distribution upgrades, resilience enhancements, emergency response and energy efficiency across installations nationwide.
The company stands out for owning and operating its systems on military bases, eliminating prolonged outages with dedicated O&M programs.
CLP stays ahead with financial backing, cutting-edge engineering and a full life-cycle approach to utility system delivery—from design to long-term operation.
