Specialist, Project Safety

In this position, you will lead the development and implementation of effective health and safety standards across VHBA. This will involve implementation of best practices, and reporting across VHBA’s major infrastructure projects to providing strategic guidance on risk management, incident investigations, and emergency responses.

• Undertaking regular safety monitoring to ensure compliance with safety management systems, contractual obligations, applicable legislation, and organisational requirements.
• Collaborating proactively with project delivery contractors to develop and implement modern contractor and risk management strategies.
• Conducting regular strategic analysis of safety trends, issues, and incidents, delivering insights, reports, and actionable recommendations to executive leadership.

• Extensive demonstrated experience developing contractual arrangements with project delivery contractors.
• A dynamic professional with sound organisational and communication skills with exceptional working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Recent hands-on experience in high-risk construction environments consistently achieving outstanding safety performance.
