To conduct the role within as directed by the company and within the guidelines outlined within the group rules and policies, with particular attention to the drivers rules.
To liaise and assist with Allelys on site staff if required,
Assisting with building trailers, tidying equipment, preparing equipment such as timbers, chains, straps and spill kits. Duties could also include cleaning and tidying, operating a forklift moving and positioning of stools and general lifting and carrying.
To drive in a safe and efficient manner, obeying all and any legislation that applies to the operation being performed.
To use the radios which are provided to assist with the job in order to communicate.
To check the condition of all chains, tighteners, straps and other securing equipment, and to report any defects immediately to the transport office and/or garage.
To assist in loading and unloading the trailer and be responsible for all load securing before any goods are transported.
To make sure all vehicles and trailers being operated are fit for purpose and roadworthy.
To assist in keeping the vehicle and trailer clean and tidy both inside and outside.
To operate in line with all safe systems of work required for all operations and as per Allely’s policies.
To be team leader on all two man operations involving an escort driver taking care to avoid all obstacles and not to damage any equipment or property.

It is not a structured day, start and end times are flexible and will change dependent upon the job. You must be prepared and self sufficient.

Full Driving licence – HGV CE.
Flexible and reliable.
Ramp building- ramp building is a two man operation required for the transport of rail stock.
To perform other duties at certain times when required, and as directed by the Transport Manager. All additional responsibilities listed are subject to having received the correct training and holding valid certificates where applicable.
Ability to contribute effectively to a team working environment.
The ability to ‘think on your feet’ and use of initiative.
CPC qualification card.

The work has no set daily hours and no set weekly days, it is flexible to the business needs
Weekend rate (Saturday/Saturday) – £185 per day.
Bonus percentage – 10% above £1000 on weekdays. 10% on weekends, no £ cap.
Night out allowance – £26.
Day rate (Monday to Friday) – £170 per day.
