The Customs Entry Writer will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting import documentation to U.S. Customs and other government agencies, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This is an on-site role in Dallas offering stability, professional growth, and the chance to work with an experienced global trade team.

  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and government officials to resolve clearance issues.
  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS).
  • Monitor entry status, release, and delivery coordination.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import regulations, duty rates, and trade programs.
  • Prepare and process accurate and timely customs entries for air and ocean import shipments.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with company and government standards.
  • Support audit and post-entry activities as needed.
  • Review commercial documents for compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGA) requirements.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with ABI systems and standard forwarding software (e.g., Descartes, CargoWise, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, CBP regulations, and ACE entry processes.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in U.S. Customs entry writing within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
