MEP Equipment Procurement Manager

Description

• Collaborate with the Project Team to expertly develop the construction schedule, to communicate critical path procurement timelines, and to turnover ownership of equipment order management.
• Validate equipment vendor pricing, upholding the highest standards of accuracy.
• Thoroughly analyze mission-critical MEP specifications and drawings to accurately understand project needs and overall basis of design.
• Efficiently oversee multiple preconstruction projects, ensuring streamlined operations.
• Effectively manage diverse inputs from various stakeholders, ensuring cohesive collaboration to achieve positive results for both EGC and the client.
• Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure timely delivery of equipment in a competitive mission-critical market.
• Clearly and concisely communicate procurement status, updates, and decisions to the client, including them on key decisions impacting their project or program.
• Execute additional duties assigned, showcasing adaptability and commitment to excellence in mission-critical preconstruction management.
• Generate and conduct RFPs involving a large supply base for a variety of mechanical, electrical, or other types of equipment.
• Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with key suppliers, leveraging strategic partnerships to drive project success.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that arise. Implement and manage KPIs and vendor scorecards.

Requirements

• sEffective communication and presentation abilities, demonstrating a capacity to influence decisions of team members, partners, and customer
• Demonstrate proficiency in purchase order and master agreement negotiation with both clients and suppliers. Subsequently, prepare and execute purchase orders after award.
• dProficiency in MS Office Suit
• sBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Engineerin
• sFundamental understanding of legal terms and conditions commonly found in purchasing agreement
• eDetail-oriented, with strong organizational skill
• Demonstrate knowledge of pricing dynamics and costs pertaining to equipment in mission-critical / data center procurement.
• sNegotiation and vendor management skill
• sAbility to interpret single line diagrams, flow diagrams, and specifications for Data Center Project
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, applying analytical thinking to overcome challenges and ensure project success.
• sStrong verbal and written communication skill
• sPropensity to take initiative and is self-motivate
• gMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in preconstruction services or strategic sourcing, preferably with an MEP focu
• Comprehend startup, commissioning, and integrated system testing scopes and how these processes impact equipment sourcing.
