  • Provide thought leadership on emerging transmission and market design issues.

  • Monitor and interpret new regulatory requirements and determine operational impacts.
  • Partner with external lobbyists and contribute to legislative advocacy when needed.
  • Ensure transmission projects align with regulatory requirements and approval processes.
  • Develop and articulate regulatory strategies and policy positions that align company objectives with state energy policy goals.
  • Monitor and analyze legislation affecting the electric utility industry.
  • Actively participate in ERCOT stakeholder processes, committees, and working groups.
  • Serve as a trusted representative of the company in public proceedings, legislative hearings, and media interactions when required.
  • Serve as a key point of contact with regulatory agencies, state officials, and industry organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Engage in PUCT regulatory proceedings, including contested cases, rulemakings, workshops, and other industry forums.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting obligations and respond to inquiries from agencies.

  • Bring 10+ years of experience in utility regulation, public policy, or a related area.
  • Demonstrate exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues in briefs and other documents.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Law/Legal Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Possess deep knowledge of FERC, PUCT, and ERCOT regulations and processes.
  • Have experience with transmission planning, rate-making, or regulatory proceedings.
  • Direct experience engaging in PUCT contested proceedings and ERCOT stakeholder processes strongly preferred.
