Manager of Engineering, Transmission Lines

Description

The Manager of Engineering leads and develops the transmission line engineering teams within a region, ensuring delivery of high‑quality, cost‑competitive services. This role also supports business development and contributes to company initiatives, including strategy and objective setting.

• Manage and develop engineering teams
• Support business development activities and grow the business in your region
• Ensure teams uphold Pickett’s values, brand promises, and code of conduct
• Provide a work environment conducive to team members' growth and development
• Provide project oversight, managing engineering scope, change orders, schedules, and budgets
• Maintain high quality and responsiveness to client requirements
• Oversee transmission line design activities and quality assurance/control
• Interact regularly with clients, maintaining and developing relationships
• Develop better alternatives and recommendations for transmission line group and communicate them effectively
• Identify relevant metrics and apply them to business, clients, and projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (required)
• 15+ years of engineering experience in consulting or electric utility (required)
• Project management experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of fundamentals of managing project scope, schedule, and budget
• Understanding of basic practices for evaluating engineering and design issues
• Work safely and obey safety regulations
• Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Comfortable sharing knowledge freely
• Strong attention to detail; work well in team or independently
• Think creatively for engineering innovation and solutions
• Thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, and highly agile environment
• Pass drug screen, background check, and maintain satisfactory driving record per company policy
