Works under the supervision of Operations/Transportation Assistant General Superintendent, maintain real time coordination with the Transportation Manager
Coordinates Yard and shop activities with Maintenance of Equipment Division ensuring rolling stock availability and servicing
Ensures procedures are followed to inform customers
Ensures DOT, FTA Hours of Service regulations are adhered to
Supervises Lead Controllers and Controllers - monitors fitness for duty
Ensure staffing levels are maintained in the 20 Office
Ensure incidents are properly logged and the Trapeze Asset Management system is used in accordance with the training provided.
Coordinates supervision of line operations and customer service with the Transportation Manager. Shares duties and responsibilities with the Transportation Manger to maintain essential managerial oversight as may be required by circumstances.

Maintains proficiency in Emergency Response and Incident management, adhering to National Incident Management (NIMS) principles
Ability to write regulatory and departmental reports and correspondence.

Possession of a valid driver’s license and any other certificates, licenses and registrations as required by law to perform the specified functions.
Must successfully complete Light Rail operations training program and Light Rail Operator recertification annually.
Strong computer skills, including comfort with learning new applications and programs

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Has attended formal safety related course work, TSI Certified Safety Professional.
Extended work experience may be substituted for education, if appropriate, of which at least two (2) years must have been at a supervisory level; - OR - A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year accredited college or university and at least five years of experience in rail transit industry.
Ability to work effectively in a fast- paced, communications-heavy environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide clear concise direction during major incidents.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks with superior attention to detail.
Ability to speak, read and write English in a work setting.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening as well as a background check and motor vehicle report review.
Must be in the process of obtaining FTA TSI TSSP certification in Rail. Must be certified in CPR/AED.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts including but not limited to proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing all units of measure.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
