  • Define and Deliver Strategy: Develop and maintain the strategic direction for Anglian Water’s asset standards and products. Ensure alignment with the Chief Engineer’s Office, Commercial Operations and our delivery alliances. Lead the team’s priorities, manage external relationships, and foster a culture focused on safety and excellence.
  • Lead a team of skilled professionals and collaborate across the entire capital delivery ecosystem.
  • Standard Products Development: Lead the creation and improvement of our standard products and proven designs in collaboration with engineering, innovation, and procurement teams. Drive the adoption of best practice solutions that enhance quality, reduce cost and carbon, and support safe, efficient construction.
  • Governance and Collaboration: Operate robust governance systems to ensure all voices are heard and decisions are transparent and well-evidenced. Engage across the business and alliances to ensure our standards reflect operational experience, innovation and commercial priorities.
  • Communicate, Educate and Inspire: Promote the value of standardisation across Anglian Water and our partners. Develop and deliver training, share best practice, and ensure our systems and standards are accessible, clear and easy to use.
  • Influence major engineering decisions that will define the infrastructure of tomorrow.
  • Maintain and Improve Standards: Oversee the continuous improvement of our Minimum Asset Standards (MAS), Design Manuals and Specifications. Ensure alignment with national and international standards (CESWI, WIMES, British Standards) and capture best practice from across the industry.

  • Significant experience in engineering design or construction, ideally in water, networks or related infrastructure
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering
  • Experience of mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues
  • Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills
  • Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) status through a relevant professional body
  • Sound understanding of safety, regulatory and environmental standards
  • Proven leadership and line management experience
