The Production Supervisor will oversee the activities of 40‑75 production and operations workers—including assemblers, electricians, inspectors, and precision workers—to ensure production schedules are completed on time, safely, and within budget.
In this role the supervisor directs the manufacturing workforce, enforces safety and sanitation standards, anticipates and resolves production obstacles, leads product‑quality initiatives with quality staff and engineers, and handles employee issues to boost morale and efficiency. Additional duties include approving timesheets, monitoring performance and attendance, ensuring timely and budget‑constrained work orders, coordinating with other supervisors, training new staff, analyzing production data, and providing feedback on engineering packages, all while complying with Johnson Controls and Alberta occupational health and safety regulations.
Candidates must have at least three years of production‑supervisor experience, a journeyperson electrician credential, and hands‑on knowledge of operations, warehouse and transportation management, supplies ordering, and inventory control. They should be familiar with local and federal regulations such as AOHS and the Employment Standards Code, possess strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, and demonstrate a customer‑service mindset and commitment to safe manufacturing practices. The position works a night shift (Monday‑Thursday, 6:15 pm – 5:45 am). Preferred qualifications include a related degree or diploma, training in Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing, and First Aid certification.
Johnson Controls offers reasonable accommodation for applicants and employees with disabilities throughout the recruitment process, in line with human‑rights legislation and Ontario’s AODA. The company’s broader mission is to make buildings smarter, safer, more comfortable, efficient, and sustainable, leveraging a global portfolio of products, technologies, software, and services.
