Perform routine maintenance and repairs across multiple trades on a naval base.

Tasks
-Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment -ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate -Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties -from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms -PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies -Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment -Order parts, supplies, and equipment -Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work -Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments -Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices -replace broken hardware in a barracks room, working on signage, replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets -Perform routine preventive maintenance -Repair or replace defective equipment parts and reassemble equipment -Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) -Use hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges -Establish priorities to ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner

What You Bring
-Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain one -Regular, dependable attendance -Adaptable and flexible in work situations -Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements -U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations -High school diploma or equivalent -Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted -Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces -Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions -4+ years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades -Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL settings -Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking -Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping -Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
