The Senior Construction Project Manager role sits within the Global Design and Construction team of more than 200 professionals, which delivers over 70 projects worldwide each year and manages more than $2 billion in capital expenditures. This position leads the day‑to‑day activities of a large team of Construction/Operations Project Managers for the ground‑up construction of a new data‑center campus in Minooka, Illinois. The manager mentors junior staff, makes tactical decisions to resolve issues, and oversees project costs, methods, and team selection to meet schedules and goals.
Key responsibilities include guiding Construction/Operations Project Managers, setting team goals, and managing multiple smaller projects or a single large construction effort. The role drives a safety‑first culture, monitors progress, quality, and regulatory compliance, and directs external vendors such as general contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers. It also administers contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and liaises with local authorities while leading internal and external project teams across design, procurement, operations, commercial, and IT/Network functions.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in construction, construction project management, services engineering, or possess comparable experience, and have at least ten years of construction project management experience in critical infrastructure environments such as data centres, pharmaceutical or biotech facilities. The role requires daily on‑site presence at the Minooka location, strong knowledge of statutory regulations and industry best practices, proficiency with MS Office, Project, Excel and Visio, and the ability to be self‑motivated, customer‑focused, and flexible.
The targeted base‑pay range for this position in the Chicago area is $150,000‑$224,000 annually, with eligibility for bonus, equity and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life, disability and voluntary insurance, retirement contributions, paid time off and holidays, and an employee assistance program.
