Description

Job Purpose: The primary purpose of a charge hand is to provide day‑to‑day supervision of a team of technicians and helpers in civil works at the project site. They are also responsible for ensuring work is completed on time and meets high quality standards.

• Prepare bills of quantity for needed materials and machinery.
• Optimize manpower allocation of fitters, electricians, and helpers within budget.
• Produce daily progress reports for the supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of stock, equipment, and materials.
• Address snag points promptly to minimize risk.
• Enforce safety regulations on site.
• Supervise workers to ensure efficient, on‑time completion of tasks.
• Check toolbox stock daily and verify proper return of equipment.
• Control material usage at the work site.
• Follow installation drawings and carry out site work with the team.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records.

Requirements

• Minimum HSE certification and 8 years experience in a similar charge‑hand role.
• Ability to read basic installation drawings and cable schedules; proficient with hand tools and machines.
• Skilled in planning, organizing, directing, and supervising work within budget constraints.
• Physically fit for extreme weather and manual labor.
• Strong logical reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions.
• Effective listening and comprehension of verbal instructions.
• Good technical knowledge of standards, principles, and techniques.
• Capable of handling moderately complex tasks and providing appropriate solutions.
• Works under general supervision with some independent judgment; recognizes limited impact of errors on project schedules.
