Performs pre-shift inspections on heavy equipment for proper operation of equipment parts and performs preventive maintenance. Maintains proper oil levels, replacement of air filters, and other minor parts. Maintains appropriate equipment lubrication levels, and cleans equipment ensuring proper safety, and operation.
Operates front-end loader on barges for the purpose of off-loading raw materials. This includes but, is not limited to, loading of equipment onto the barge, the complete material removal process, and the unloading of equipment of the barge.
Attends to security of barge, barge support equipment inspection, and inspection and maintenance of material conveying systems as required.
Assists in other departments, as needed for vacation and other relief.
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Assists as needed on construction projects, general cleanup, and/or assisting in production operations as needed.
Assists in unloading rail cars, as needed.
Operates a dump truck, forklift, man-lift, and heavy equipment to transport raw materials, clinker, and other items within the confines of the plant.
Operate sweeper and water truck to maintain dust control.
Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guidelines for operating and maintaining vehicle

Ability to operate a shovel, wheelbarrow, jackhammer, weed eater, hand and power tools, hoists, compressors, and other specialized tools.
Minimum of one year of related mobile/heavy equipment operation experience required.
Stamina and flexibility to maintain a steady work pace.
Ability to estimate stockpile volumes.
Ability to operate trucks, dump trucks, bobcats, various sizes of heavy capacity loaders, forklifts, and other related heavy equipment in a safe manner.
Working requires walking, climbing, bending, gripping/grasping controls, twisting, pushing, pulling, working in an awkward position, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work at heights up to 250 feet
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
High school graduation or equivalent is required
