The role involves leading and performing electrical installations, alterations, additions, and repairs of systems, conductors, and associated equipment across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The incumbent ensures projects meet budget, schedule, and quality standards while adhering to standard operating procedures and NEC, state, and local codes.
Key responsibilities include overseeing a crew of 1‑6 helpers, apprentices, or journeypersons, conducting daily meetings, assigning tasks based on skill levels, and providing coaching and conflict resolution. The employee monitors and orders materials, maintains a clean work area, performs daily equipment and safety inspections, documents progress, and reports incidents promptly. Interaction with owners, architects, engineers, trade contractors, and vendors is also required.
Candidates must embody Gaylor Values, comply with OSHA safety requirements, and enforce proper interpretation of company policies. They need to understand and enforce NEC compliance, possess Journeyperson‑level technical and safety knowledge, and be able to work safely with live energized parts while interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.
Work conditions may involve exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, noisy environments, and the need to use portable sanitary facilities. The role requires the use of personal protective equipment, the ability to lift up to 51 lb, climb ladders or scaffolding, and perform various physical activities such as bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or at least six years of electrical experience, and possess a Journeyman license where required by state or project regulations.
