The specialist will implement Mortenson’s environmental program on project sites, ensuring compliance with regulations, reviewing submittals, and leading training and best‑management practices. Responsibilities also include monitoring mitigation measures, conducting site inspections, and collaborating with customers and regulatory agencies on reporting requirements.
- Develop site‑specific environmental plans and activities
- Review environmental submittals and attend pre‑construction meetings
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
- Develop and lead environmental orientation and training programs
- Lead onsite best management practices for environmental management
- Monitor mitigation measures and conduct site inspections
- Collaborate with customers on federal, state, provincial, and local reporting
- Maintain operational knowledge of construction‑related environmental issues and standards
- Interface with customers' environmental personnel, consultants, and regulators
- Assist in developing company‑wide environmental management support programs

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field and have at least four years of related experience. The ideal applicant possesses strong knowledge of federal, state, provincial, and local environmental laws, experience in erosion control, storm‑water management, or related areas, and the ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Management, Science, Biology, Geology, or related field
- Minimum of four years of related experience
- Experience in two or more areas: erosion prevention, sediment control, storm‑water pollution prevention, SPCC, aquatic resources, endangered species
- Strong understanding of applicable environmental laws and policies
- Ability to interact effectively with consultants and governmental agencies
- Proficient with PC, tablets, Excel, and MS Word
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to travel up to 50%

The position offers a base salary ranging from $89,500 to $120,800, with higher rates for certain locations, and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
