  • Stand and walk for extended periods (8 to 12-hour shifts) during production and cleaning tasks.
  • Help coordinate contractor work and vendor services when needed.
  • Respond to facility-related work orders and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Conduct and participate in safety audits, hazard identification, and ongoing safety training.
  • Support seasonal and weather-related facility needs (e.g., snow removal, salting walkways)
  • Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of facility infrastructure (doors, walls, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, respirators, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves for long durations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment to support a culture of safety.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights to access dust accumulation and perform maintenance tasks.
  • Bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crawl, and stretch to reach and clean various areas, inspect equipment, and align materials.
  • Assist with installation and setup of new equipment or facility modifications.
  • Provide hands-on support to maintenance technicians during equipment servicing, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding defects, operational issues, and safety concerns.
  • Assist with inventory management of tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Work cross-functionally with production, quality, and engineering teams to align maintenance with operational goals.
  • Participate in safety audits and hazard assessments related to dust accumulation.
  • Utilize CMMS to manage work orders.
  • Document and report combustible dust levels and cleaning schedules to comply with NFPT and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain stamina and focus to perform physically demanding tasks throughout shift.
  • Maintain balance and spatial awareness to ensure safety and stability in a dynamic environment.
  • Conduct regular cleaning of dust-prone areas using appropriate tools and PPC.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, NFPA standards, and site-specific safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, brushing, vacuuming, and operating tools like staple guns and banders.
  • Provide technical input on equipment design, upgrades, and capital projects to enhance reliability and maintainability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Kaizen, Six Sigma) to drive operational excellence.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, mechanical rooms, and shared spaces.
  • Monitor and Maintain dust collection systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work in hot, noisy, dusty, and/or humid conditions for extended periods.

  • Forklift and AWP certification is a plus.
  • Use hand tools such as brushes, brooms, scrapers, and vacuums with precision and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities or industrial maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and work order systems.
  • Tolerate exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
