Description

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and disinfected workplace. This includes cleaning interiors of buildings, floors, carpets, windows, furniture, restrooms, and common areas, as well as managing trash, recycling, and supply inventories. The role requires adhering to safety procedures and reporting any unsafe conditions.

• Clean interior surfaces including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and lighting fixtures.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop offices, hallways, lobbies, elevators, stairs, and locker rooms.
• Remove stains from upholstered furniture and dust all furnishings.
• Disinfect high‑touch items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
• Clean and restock restrooms, and maintain bathroom supplies.
• Empty trash and recycling containers, clean trash cans, ashtrays, and remove snow from sidewalks when needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors.
• Document cleaning activities on a chart and report unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety and precaution rules, including lifting up to 50 lb and closing doors at night.

Requirements

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, outdoor weather, and electrical hazards, with a moderate noise level.
