  • Create and maintain a safe, clean, reliable, and efficient vehicle fleet and maintenance facilities. Manage all fleet assets assigned to the facilities under his/her direct responsibility.
  • This position is responsible for managing an annual indirect expense budget of $1M - $4M and a staff of approximately 15 to 20 craft employees. Failure to meet safety goals will jeopardize the health and well-being of employees, clients, internal and external customers. Failure to meet financial targets would cause an increase in vehicle rates and directly impact the financial targets of EED, Exelon and our external customers.
  • Ensure that appropriate inventory levels of parts and supplies are maintained through use of approved Fleet Services supply strategies. Manage all budgetary aspects for the facilities under his/her direct responsibility, including costs of material, labor, and contracted services.
  • Manage cross-functional relationships and establish effective communications with line management and organizational leadership.
  • This position must be able to effectively communicate with various department supervisors in identifying vehicle and equipment needs and scheduling equipment maintenance. Actively participate in various safety councils and respond to stakeholder requests in a timely manner to ensure focus on internal customer needs. Failure to effectively manage the repair shops could cause excessive vehicle downtime, impacting the EED System Reliability Goals.
  • Direct and supervise employees in day-to-day operations and activities at multiple Fleet Services repair facilities and coordinate activities across multiple shifts and locations. Ensure adherence to Company and departmental safety rules and practices. Provide coaching and discipline, when necessary, to employees to achieve and maintain optimum performance in safety and productivity.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Fleet Services budget and fleet replacement strategy.
  • Implement and manage all safety initiatives, preventive maintenance programs, management plans, and training programs. Assure compliance with all Federal, State and local safety, environmental, vehicle and workplace regulations.

  • 4-7 years internal utility company experience (e.g. BGE, ComEd, PECO and PHI) or relevant external experience
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience, specifically fleet garages
  • This position interacts with State Transportation and Environmental agencies. Failure to comply with Federal, State and local regulations during the day-to-day shop operations could result in loss of required licensing and subject Exelon to significant fines.
  • The ability to understand and interpret all Federal, State, and local vehicle regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (ex: Work, Excel, and PPT) and comfortable navigating web-based application, including fleet management software systems
  • Associates Degree in Automotive technology and/or ASE Master certification
  • Ability to recognize unusual conditions and take corrective actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to acquire and maintain the follow: a valid Driver's License, State-level Underground Storage Tank (UST) Operator Training (Class A/B/C certificates).
  • Demonstrated high commitment to safety
  • Ability to successfully complete the Exelon supervisory assessment
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a high-performance culture
