In production, the operator monitors processing equipment, assists higher‑level operators, and uses measuring equipment to meet quality specifications. They also train lower‑level operators, operate material handling equipment, update the shop‑floor management system and CIP boards, spot equipment malfunctions, communicate with technicians for root‑cause analysis, and perform basic preventative maintenance.
For raw‑material supply, the operator visually checks workstations for low supplies, transports materials using appropriate handling equipment, and notifies supervisors when reorder levels are reached. They identify raw‑material types and part numbers, review bills of materials, and communicate any shortages.
Quality duties include testing and inspecting produced products, reporting non‑conforming items, isolating or reworking defective items, and entering accurate data into the quality control system. The operator also identifies raw materials that do not meet quality requirements.
Additional responsibilities encompass 6S activities, workshops, meetings, and cross‑functional training, as well as flexible shift work and wearing required personal protective equipment.
The role requires basic literacy, arithmetic, good manual dexterity with small parts, the ability to perform repetitive tasks, effective communication, and the ability to interpret work orders, instructions, blueprints, or drawings. A positive attitude, superior service, and adherence to high quality standards are essential.
Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent and 6–12 months of related experience, though equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Compensation includes a base hourly rate of $20.00–$22.00, adjusted for education, experience, and market factors, and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.
