As a Senior Commissioning Officer, you’ll take the lead on a variety of challenging projects, including renewable energy installations, substations, and transmission networks, and be at the forefront of ensuring high-voltage systems operate safely and reliably. You’ll lead and perform pre-energisation testing and verification on new and upgraded equipment, preventing costly failures, minimising downtime, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and protecting personnel and assets. Your work will directly contribute to efficient project delivery, build client trust, and safeguard the business’s reputation, making you a critical part of Enerven’s success.
- Lead the planning and execution of commissioning activities for E&I systems.
- Conduct and manage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new and refurbished systems.
- Coordinate with SCADA, controls, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Drive quality, safety, and compliance with Australian and international standards.
- Conduct pre-commissioning tests and commission primary and secondary equipment within substations.
- Develop commissioning procedures, test plans, and completion records.
- Produce accurate drawing markups and documentation to capture system changes and support project closeouts at the end of the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain FAT and SAT documentation for upcoming installations.
- Support fault finding and issue resolution during commissioning activities.
- Review designs and provide technical input to project and engineering teams.

We’re looking for experienced Commissioning Officers to join our team and play a key role in delivering some of Australia’s largest HV infrastructure and renewable projects.
We currently have projects based across both SA and NSW, with a requirement to work away from home. Project rosters can vary based on client expectations, so flexibility is a must. We would also consider FIFO arrangements from different states for the right candidate.
- Experience supporting commissioning teams in brownfield and greenfield environments
- Proven expertise in electrical and instrumentation commissioning in High high-voltage environments
- Proven ability to manage safety-critical commissioning activities with strong risk awareness
- Strong technical writing skills for commissioning plans, procedures, ITPs, and records
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 4761, AS 61508/61511 (functional safety)
- Electrical License, or Electrical Engineering Degree with extensive knowledge gained through relevant experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical, process, SCADA, and construction teams
- Demonstrated performance of secondary system testing, including Omicron or similar protection and control testing units, and working with IEC 61850 communication-based substation automation systems
- Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) processes
