  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding activities.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Pay careful attention and use care when handling machinery and equipment.
  • Pressure-test welds to confirm air-tight retention of fluids.
  • Change out welding gas cylinders and weld wire as required.
  • Safely operate forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), power buggies, hoists, and scissor lifts per supervisor's discretion.
  • Stand on your feet for up to 10 hours a day in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform welding along flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead weld lines.
  • Use chop saws, hand plasma cutters, cutting torches, and/or belt sanders to fit parts.
  • Examine welds to ensure specifications, including bead size, are met.
  • Secure parts using bolts, clamps, and tack welds to prepare for welding.
  • Repair broken or cracked metal objects, fill holes, and build up metal parts.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
  • Follow daily signal reports to complete assigned tasks.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components in jigs or fixtures.

  • Proficiency in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and air-powered tools.
  • Ability to operate a hoist.
  • The noise level in the environment is loud, and hearing protection is required.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must pass a Multiquip Welder Certification test within three months of employment.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure and calipers.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Experience working with Robotic Weld is highly desirable.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Proficiency in interpreting prints and welding symbols is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one interactions with other employees.
  • Associate’s Degree or Welder Certificate from a technical college or trade school preferred; or six months to one year of related experience/training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
