Identify corrective actions necessary to bring alarm and detection systems into compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to property owners or their representatives
Attend training classes to maintain current knowledge of fire codes, regulations, and alarm systems
Make modifications and/or repairs to existing alarm and detection systems
Inspect and test fire protection or fire detection systems to verify that such systems are installed in accordance with appropriate laws, codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards
Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
Install new systems and system components
Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Respond to service calls for alarm and detection systems (may include emergency calls during non-standard working hours)

Experience in Fire Protection/Life Safety industry
Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
Experience with fire detection systems including VESDA, FM200 and other gas extinguishing systems
High level of knowledge & application of National Fire Alarm Code
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
Complete knowledge of low voltage wiring, especially troubleshooting.
Able to meet all physical requirements.
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
Thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
Must have valid Driver's License and clean Department of Motor Vehicles report
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Knowledge of functions associated with testing of fire alarms, access control, and security systems.
NICET Certification Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems required

Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
