Part Time On Call Environmental Field Technician

Description

• Assist with plumbing repairs and construction tasks in alignment with project needs;
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain environmental remediation equipment, including vacuum blowers, air compressors, transfer pumps, flowmeters, and filters;
• Operate precision measuring instruments along with a variety of hand and power tools;
• Assemble, inspect, and maintain field systems and equipment, including troubleshooting as required;
• Handle installation and maintenance of groundwater wells, piping systems, and electrically powered pumps or machinery;
• Maintaining equipment calibration logs;
• Oversee and document work performed by trade contractors across excavation, construction, remediation, and waste disposal activities;
• Produce timely and detailed field reports; and
• Collect water samples from monitoring wells, surface water, industrial wastewater systems, or other source for pollution assessment;
• Collecting air samples from remediation or gas management systems, or sub-slab gas samples;

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to communicate effectively with on-site client representatives or operators;
• High School diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
• Ability to work well individually and within groups;
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems;
• Hazwoper Certification, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, annual Hazwoper 8 hr. re-certification, as required;
• 5+ years’ prior related experience preferred;
• Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
• Valid driver’s license in good standing; and
• Ability to travel to various job sites and spend most, if not all of the workday on-site, as-required.
