The Role

Overview

Lead engineering team to manage complex airport projects, scope, budgets, BIM, and coordination.

Tasks

-Manages the work efforts of professionals. -Management of Fire / Life-Safety approvals; -Management of MEP & Control Systems Contractors in an aviation context; -Assists and may mentor less experienced team members. -Ensures scope, design basis and objectives are defined, best practices/lessons learned reviewed, detailed work plans, schedules, budgets and procedures are established -Makes decisions based on unit objectives, as well as company policies and procedures. -Coordinates technical issues with other departments which may include constructability requirements and technical reviews. -Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements. -May be responsible for a functional Program and not have any subordinate employees. -Identifies quality requirements and ensures the proper processes are identified and implemented to achieve contractual quality commitments.

What You Bring

-Strong varied experience in creating, developing and leading teams. -Essential: prior experience in managing multiple packages of work. -Typically requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.Recent experience on a major ($1b+) airport facilities; -Desirable: understanding of current innovations, including applications of AI. -Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines -Desirable: understanding of airline industry and international regulatory codes, standards and design criteria relating to airport design. -Demonstrated ability to effectively influence outcomes and escalate issues appropriately. -Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills at varying levels of the organisation. -Knowledge and experience of the complex interfaces with airport design and the detailed design prepared by multiple design contractors on projects. -Role model the Bechtel Visions, Values, & Commitments (VV&C) and must be a strong advocate of our Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DE&I) efforts and initiatives. -Possesses working knowledge and production ability with computer-aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD and Revit. -Extensive knowledge of BIM and other automation and technology to facilitate design reviews, quantity take-offs and asset management. -Possesses a working knowledge of BIM processes, including experience designing projects in BIM platforms, particularly Revit and Navisworks. -Experience of working within a multicultural, highly diverse team environment is essential. -Knowledge of industry, technology and EPC work processes. -Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing and solving problems
