The Operator role involves operating various power equipment—including hoists, cranes, forklifts, and trucks—to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move equipment and materials on construction sites. The position supports safe and efficient workflow by handling material supply, inventory tracking, and equipment maintenance while adhering to AP’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) safety culture.
Key responsibilities include daily inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment; digging, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel; supplying tools and materials as directed; documenting equipment and material logs; and ensuring safe load rigging based on verbal or hand signals. The Operator also inspects work‑in‑progress to confirm compliance with specifications, schedules, and quality standards, and upholds the highest workmanship quality. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, completed apprenticeship or comparable training, and relevant certifications such as CCO (including 150‑ton crawler crane) and forklift certification. A commercial driver’s license is preferred. The role requires physical agility to operate heavy equipment, lift up to 100 lb, travel up to 70 + miles to project sites, and work in various climate conditions.
