The Assistant Community Manager will partner with the Community Manager to ensure optimal performance in leasing, marketing, compliance, accounting, and resident satisfaction, with a focus on tax-credit housing programs.
- Assist the Community Manager in all aspects of daily operations for your community.
- Perform accounting tasks including collecting and posting rent, fees, and other payments; process month end, move‑ins, move‑outs, and zero receipts; collaborate with Accounting to resolve issues.
- Keep Yardi and resident management software up to date with rent charges, occupants, lease dates, and other data.
- Support marketing and leasing efforts including social media, reputation management, advertising, collateral, curb appeal, and pricing.
- Engage prospective residents via lead management software, email, phone, appointments; lease and tour apartments and guide them through application, tax credit, and move‑in processes.
- Administer lease agreements, addendums, renewals, prospect screening, and legal notices ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Respond promptly to resident questions, concerns, and requests; work with Resident Relations to de‑escalate issues.
- Provide excellent customer service to all residents, prospects, and guests.
- Participate in resident events, community programming, and local/non‑profit initiatives.
- Assist with tax‑credit program compliance, monitor rents, new move‑ins and re‑certifications; coordinate with Compliance on paperwork and reporting.
- Act as the onsite supervisor in the absence of the Community Manager.
- Submit reporting as directed by the Community Manager, adhering to company deadlines.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Community Manager and alert them to concerns about employees, the community, or the market.
- Document injuries and incidents per company guidelines and report them promptly.
- Maintain a positive relationship with local housing authorities and agencies.
- Assist in implementing new systems, programs, and procedures; use company technology and software appropriately.
- Follow, support, and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with peers, other team members, and departments.
- Seek out training opportunities and stay current on industry and legal trends.

Pay is dependent on experience, schedule is to be determined, and the company adheres to equal-opportunity hiring practices. Candidates must pass background and drug screenings and meet legal work eligibility requirements.
- Minimum 2 years of property management experience, including multi‑family leasing.
- Strong operational background and leasing skills.
- Prefer prior accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Fair Housing and related regulations.
- Knowledge of Section 42 LIHTC program and compliance processes preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience using property management software, preferably Yardi.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old and fluent in English.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screen.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (I‑9 compliance).
