Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and technical guidance to other Engineers and Designers in the MEP group.
Perform a variety of engineering calculations (e.g.: HVAC load & ventilation air calculations, psychometrics, pipe flow/pressure drop, ductwork sizing, ductwork static pressure, hydraulic analysis for piping sizing and layout, etc.).
Utilize building load calculation software (such as Trane Trace).
Interact with internal team members as well as external stakeholders (i.e.: clients, vendors, and contractors).
Contribute to the design of mechanical utility & HVAC systems; this includes sizing as well as selection of building mechanical equipment (such as air handlers, chillers, pumps, fans, cooling towers, compressors, dryers, boilers, VRF & DX split systems, and terminal devices).
Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, BIM, etc.); experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Revit is a plus!
Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to demonstrate a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
3+ years of professional experience working in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with the design of HVAC and/or utility systems.
Proven expertise with HVAC and Mechanical Utility system technology.
Apply knowledge of relevant MEP industry codes & standards (e.g.: ASHRAE, ICC Codes, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).
Experience working with HVAC/R modeling tools; experience with Trane TRACE is preferred.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (with both co-workers and clients) with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related technical discipline) preferred.
