The Senior Field Technician inspects, tests, and maintains high, medium, and low voltage electrical power equipment such as SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers, pad‑mount and GSU transformers, grounding systems, instrument transformers, and various manual and motor‑operated switches. The role includes leading safety briefings, performing voltage testing, troubleshooting using manuals and schematics, and preparing detailed reports. The technician also trains junior field technicians and interacts with customers on large‑scale projects.
Candidates must pass a drug screen, background check, and hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Required experience includes 10+ years in the industry, a degree or military background in electrical/electronic technology, and the ability to work overtime and travel. Preferred certifications are NETA III/IV, and familiarity with test equipment such as power factor meters, megger, hi‑pot, and knowledge of circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motors, PTs and CCVTs.
