Overview
On-site construction observation and coordination for municipal infrastructure projects.

Tasks
-Coordinate, monitor and witness required testing activities to ensure that testing is being carried out at the prescribed frequency and that the results meet requirements/standards. -Provide general construction observation during construction on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship meet the contractual requirements. -Ensure construction compliance to the contractual drawings and specifications. -Provide on-site construction observation of municipal and development infrastructure projects, confirming that construction works meet the requirements of contract drawings and specifications. -Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees. -Perform construction administration services and coordination including preparing, reviewing, and tracking schedule, day-to-day liaison with contractors and consultants, attending job meetings, preparation of progress payments, meeting minutes, record keeping and reporting. -Review construction documentation including submittal and shop drawing reviews. -Coordinate daily records of conditions, site activities, field measurements, and work progress.

In our culture, people are empowered to reflect and question current practices and seek forward looking solutions to today’s problems and tomorrow’s opportunities. -Working knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial standards and regulatory requirements. -Able to keep organized notes related to daily site activities, contractor equipment used, quantities and document with photos -In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements. -A variety of EFAP tools and online resources to support well-being are available to all employees. -Comfortable with providing direction to the contractor onsite as needed through Project Manager, as required -5-10 years' related work experience -Valid Canadian drivers' license -Ability to interpret contract drawings for municipal infrastructure projects -Ability to operate survey rod and level is an asset -Proficiency in Microsoft Office products -Experience as a construction observer on large municipal infrastructure projects or land development projects is considered an asset. -Ability to recognize potential technical issue with designs during construction and take appropriate actions in coordination with the Project Manager -Record and track as-built markups. -Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
