Assist Caregivers and Med Techs during shifts with transfers and any other duties necessary.
Participate in shift change meetings to communicate with oncoming associates regarding resident status or special needs.
Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Wellness Coordinator and Resident Care Manager.
Complete all required documentation (resident care summary, 24 hour report, shower logs, etc.)
Provide assistance during mealtime, activities, or wherever necessary.
Respond to the resident emergency call system in a timely manner.
Work with physicians and the pharmacy to make sure that medication is ordered properly.
Give emotional support to the residents by treating them with respect, dignity and always maintaining a positive and cheerful appearance.
Report changes in resident medical conditions and behaviors to physicians, families, and community leadership.
Promote safety and wellbeing of the residents through use of written and verbal procedures, safety equipment and awareness of any potential dangers.
Assist with janitorial tasks as needed.
Follow protocols regarding documenting medication and restocking the med carts.
Help with the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for residents, including toileting, showering, assisting with meals, light cleaning, showering, and other essential daily activities.
Act as a shift supervisor to ensure resident care needs are being properly met.

Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push and pull.
Communicate with multiple levels within and outside of the organization: including residents, families, Caregivers, Med Techs, Wellness Coordinator, Resident Care Manager, Wellness Nurses, pharmacies, and doctors.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. 80 pounds of pressure may be placed on the associate through transfers using transfer belts or mechanical assists.
Detail Oriented – Pays attention to the smallest details in a situation, and truly cares about them. Understands the importance of all aspects of a given task, no matter how small they may seem. Works well when things are in an orderly fashion, organized, and well thought out.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Experience working with the elderly and those with memory impairment.
Constant standing and walking.
Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
High School diploma or GED is required.
PCA is required in NC and VA.
Caregiving or Med Tech experience is required.
Ability to perform repetitive movements including simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
