Interpret and incorporate design codes and client specifications related to design requirements.
Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings of HV substations including: single‐line diagrams, substation physical layouts, conduit and cable plans and details, grounding grid plan and details, lightning protection and yard lighting plans, and bills of materials.
Follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards.
Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, models, and ensure all project-related information is stored in a logical and well-structural manner.
Coordinate with other disciplines to develop a fully coordinated design.
Work with engineers and incorporate feedback into design package.
Execute changes to designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups to project deliverables.
Lead, coach and mentor junior designers and CAD technicians to deliver substation design projects.

Atleast 6 years of related experience.
Associate Degree in technology or related discipline
Experience performing substation design in BIM software (Inventor, SDS-P4A, Primtech) is preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
Proven experience in 15kV through 345kV physical utility substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
Advanced understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD and MicroStation.
