Commercial Refrigeration Installation / Start-Up Technician

Description

• Power up and commission new commercial refrigeration systems, including supermarket rack systems, walk‑in coolers/freezers, and reach‑in/display cases.
• Program setpoints and verify major control platforms such as Emerson, CPC, and Danfoss.
• Perform pressure testing, leak detection, electrical verification, and refrigerant charge adjustments.
• Diagnose and resolve start‑up issues across electrical, piping, mechanical, and controls systems.
• Ensure systems meet manufacturer specifications and performance standards before turnover.
• Document commissioning data, deficiencies, and punch‑list items.
• Coordinate with installation crews, controls technicians, and project managers for handoff to service teams.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Refrigeration Installation/Start‑Up Technician who will bring systems online, validate performance, and ensure long‑term reliability. The role is field‑based, hands‑on, and requires independent troubleshooting of complex refrigeration systems during the final phase of project delivery.

• Minimum 2 years of commercial refrigeration installation, service, or start‑up experience.
• Strong knowledge of rack refrigeration, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and tune superheat, subcooling, airflow, and refrigerant charge.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• EPA 608 certification and a clean driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel regionally; per‑diem provided when applicable.
