Assistant MEP Manager

Description

The Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Technology (MEPF) Coordinator oversees a single system on large, complex projects, typically with scopes under $50 million. Responsibilities span the entire project lifecycle—from design coordination through construction, testing, and close‑out. The role demands careful planning, scheduling, and integration of all MEPF disciplines.

The coordinator ensures safety, quality, and timely delivery of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology systems through close collaboration with clients, design teams, and subcontractors. They provide technical guidance, oversee inspections, and support risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

• Champion safety and IIF workplace culture, ensuring compliance with all company policies.
• Lead coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology systems from design through closeout.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise MEP work while maintaining code compliance and timely quality inspections.
• Provide technical guidance to superintendents and project managers; prepare accurate quantity surveys and price checks.
• Review project plans for constructability, conduct risk assessments, and anticipate potential service interruptions.
• Collaborate with Virtual Design & Construction teams to resolve MEP issues and review RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Facilitate teamwork among clients, subcontractors, and design teams, and support subcontractor budgeting and RFP development.
• Coordinate commissioning schedules with agents and trade partners to ensure proper system start‑up.
