The Guest Room Attendant in the Housekeeping department reports to the Facilities Manager or Housekeeping Supervisor and is responsible for efficiently performing all housekeeping duties to keep rooms and suites fresh, welcoming, and suitable for guests to relax or work.
Daily responsibilities include routine cleaning of guest rooms, replenishing supplies and amenities, cleaning public areas, and completing deep‑cleaning tasks as assigned, while supporting cost‑control measures, maintaining high quality standards, handling guest requests, ensuring safety, and demonstrating a professional work ethic.
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly and efficiently according to Opal’s training and standards.
- Replenish guest room supplies and amenities per Opal’s standards.
- Clean public areas as assigned, following Opal’s training and standards.
- Support control of housekeeping operational expenses and suggest cost‑saving strategies.
- Ensure the hotel meets or exceeds Opal’s and brand standards for guest satisfaction.
- Maintain facility quality standards throughout all hotel areas.
- Satisfy all guest requests in accordance with Opal training.
- Greet and acknowledge guests and associates politely.
- Perform cleaning safely, protecting health, safety, and security.
- Follow safety and security protocols during emergencies.
- Wear prescribed uniform and maintain personal cleanliness.
- Ensure rooms are well‑maintained and memorable for guests.
- Assist guests with items, directions, or other needs.
- Update supervisor on room service progress and report repairs.
- Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment when needed.
- Organize supplies, minimize waste, and keep the cleaning cart presentable.
- Log and reunite lost‑and‑found items with owners.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure quality service.
- Clean and sanitize rooms, replenish supplies, inspect, and report readiness for sale.
- Inspect rooms using Opal’s checklist before release.
- Open/close rooms for maintenance and report requirements promptly.
- Follow all housekeeping policies and procedures.
- Perform assigned deep‑cleaning tasks.
- Maintain public areas clean, attractive, safe, and presentable at all times.
- Adhere to work schedules, appearance, and uniform policy.
- Attend daily huddles and weekly departmental meetings.
- Carry out delegated responsibilities and duties.
- Inform Facilities Manager of unique situations or unusual developments.
- Service guest requests promptly and systematically.
- Handle guest complaints effectively.
- Fill in for absent colleagues and work any shift as needed.
- Promote goodwill with courteous, friendly, and helpful service.
- Take responsibility and be accountable for actions.
- Maintain consistent and congruent behavior.

Candidates must have at minimum a high school diploma, at least one year of hospitality experience, flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays, ability to lift up to 50 lb, and be willing to wear the prescribed uniform and maintain personal cleanliness.
