Contribute to fee proposals, scope development, and estimation for civil design packages.
Coaching and mentoring of junior staff, successfully assigning tasks and projects to meet staff personal development and business requirements.
Complete and manage the preparation of bids, proposals and marketing material.
Perform engineering (calcs / modelling etc) and design functions as applicable to a project. This shall include minor drafting functions if appropriate at least to a concept level.
Perform effective delegation to develop the skills of your project team.

Determine clients’ needs and expectations and document how they will be achieved e.g., in proposals, thought pieces, project plans, etc.

Mentors junior staff and passes on knowledge within own area of expertise. This includes where appropriate; supervising, training and motivating the design team to achieve required project outcomes.
Manage projects effectively including communication of project goals and work expectations.

Coordinate with various consultants and clients to provide integrated solutions.
Take responsibility for delivery of individual projects or components of projects to a client successfully. This involves technical quality, budget and programme.

Support internal QA process and mentor junior staff in civil engineering.
Prepare and review design documentation including drawings, reports and technical specifications.

A Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent) recognised by Engineer’s Australia.
HEC-RAS and Other Relevant Flood Modelling Packages (RORB / TUFLOW)
QGIS / MapInfo / ArcGIS
Technically capable and strong commercial acumen,
Experience in Civil related design and delivery of land development and or building type projects, including multi-disciplinary servicing of developments.
Ability to identify, develop options, undertake value management exercises; and present these toClients.
Ability to communicate effectively (be responsive, professional and clear).
Proficient in reviewing client briefs and understanding actual client need (and then delivery on the requirements).
Ability to network quickly and connect throughout the global BG&E business to strengthen capability and value for clients.
Strong technical capability in general civil engineering, comprising competency to undertake:
Advanced Excel (formulas etc)
Civil 3D / 12D (not mandatory, though working knowledge of is looked upon favourably)
Ability to provide input to growing the Defence Business line.
Excellent report writing skills (both technical and non-technical).
Client Development and Bidding (10%-15%)
Chartered Engineering Professional (preferred) and or RPEQ Certification.
Understanding of 12D and Civil 3D knowledge is beneficial for guiding designers and drafters.
Demonstrates confidence and ability in persuading and building support for own ideas and plans.
