Perform field surveys for drawing developments, site reviews and as recorded drawings.
Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
Review equipment selections, perform preliminary engineering calculations, and assist in developing preliminary designs.
Review shop drawings and other contractor submittals for compliance with construction documents.
Produce aspects of mechanical design and drawings in REVIT. Some project work may be completed in AutoCAD.
Facilitate and ensure the quality of the project deliverables.
Assist in the design of building related mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems across Canada using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials.
Follow production guidelines and project standards in the department drafting standards manual.

Prior experience in the construction industry would be an asset.
Knowledge or familiarity with National and Alberta Building Codes, plumbing codes, fire codes, energy codes would be considered an asset.
Either new graduate or up to 3 years of previous consulting engineering experience.
Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with colleagues and staff; a “team player” approach.
Communicate with other team members and become familiar with Stantec standards. To complete assignments and projects in a timely manner as required by the Job Captain or supervisor.
Registration or eligibility for registration with ASET.
A working knowledge of Autodesk Revit® is required. Knowledge or familiarity using AutoCAD 2020 (or newer) would be an asset.
Knowledge or experience with building mechanical systems would be an asset.
Eager to learn with strong listening and critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
Knowledge or familiarity with LEED standards, ASHRAE, ASPE and NFPA would be considered an asset.
Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, Engineering Design Technology, Architectural Technologies, Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent.
Good time management skills and able to work in a fastpaced work environment.
Selfmotivated and selfstarter with a strong work ethic.
